abstract LiPO 2 F 2 is manufactured by the reaction of compounds of the general formula (I), LiXYPO 4 , wherein X and Y are the same or different and denote H or Li, with anhydrous HF forming a reaction mixture comprising LiPO 2 F 2 . Preferably, LiH 2 PO 4 is applied as starting material. LiPO 2 F 2 can be isolated from the reaction mixture by extraction with dimethyl carbonate or propylene carbonate.
