abstract A method for frequency spectrum cognation using correlation between channels is provided by the present invention, which enables reduction of the cognation time and increase of a throughput under conditions of meeting cognation precision requirement. The method of the present invention embodiment includes: obtaining the correlation information between target channels (S101), obtaining the frequency spectrum cognation results of at least one of the target channels (S102), and determining the cognation results of other target channels according to the frequency spectrum cognation results of at least one of the target channels and the correlation information between the target channels (S103). By the present invention embodiment, the frequency spectrum cognation only needs to be performed for a part of channels, the time of cognation period is reduced, the cognation results of other non-cognitive channels are predicted and obtained by using the correlation between channels, thus the overhead of frequency spectrum cognation is decreased, and the system throughput is increased.
