A primary lithium AA cell, comprising an electrolyte comprising at least one volatile organic ether, an anode comprising lithium, and a cathode comprising iron disulfide, the cell's body including a cap assembly with a seal, wherein a weight loss of the cell is less than 0.004 gram after 120 hours of cycling in a TCWL test; and a method of reducing electrolyte evaporation from a primary lithium AA cell, comprising a step of providing a seal having at least one of the following physical properties: Melt Flow Rate of less than 8 gram per 10 minutes, Tensile Strength of about 32 MPa, Flexural Modulus of about 1870 MPa, Izod Impact Strength of greater than 75 J/m, and Rockwell hardness of about 100 R- Scale. |
