The principal component of this oxide ceramic is formed from a ferrite compound containing at least strontium, cobalt, and iron. Zirconium is also contained, in the amount of 0.05-1.0 wt.% in oxide terms. A base component (1) is formed from said oxide ceramic. In this ceramic electronic component, a coil (4) formed from a conductive material such as copper is wound so as to suspend external electrodes (2a and 2b). The following are provided: an oxide ceramic that stably exhibits good insulation performance and ferromagnetic dielectric properties; and a ceramic electronic component using said oxide ceramic. |
