Provided is a liquid crystal alignment treatment agent that contains at least one polymer chosen from among polyimide precursors obtained by reacting a diamine component including a diamine compound having a side chain as shown in formula [2] with a tetracarboxylic acid component including a tetracarboxylic dianhydride as shown in formula [1] and polyimides obtained by imidization of the polyimide precursor. (In formula [2], Y 1 indicates a single bond, −(CH 2 ) a − (wherein a is an integer from 1 to 15), −O−, or the like; Y 2 indicates a single bond or −(CH 2 ) b − (wherein b is an integer from 1 to 15); Y 3 indicates a single bond, −(CH 2 ) c − (wherein c is an integer from 1 to 15), −O−, or the like; Y 4 indicates a benzene ring, a cyclohexane ring, or the like; Y 5 indicates a benzene ring, a cyclohexane ring, or the like; n is an integer from 0 to 4; and Y 6 indicates a C1−18 alkyl group or the like.) |
