abstract | Provided are: a photoelectric conversion element which has excellent durability and photoelectric conversion efficiency; a dye-sensitized solar cell; and a metal complex dye. A photoelectric conversion element which comprises a conductive supporting body, a photosensitive body layer containing an electrolyte, a charge transfer body layer containing an electrolyte and a counter electrode, and wherein the photosensitive body layer comprises semiconductor fine particles that are loaded with a metal complex dye represented by formula (I); a dye-sensitized solar cell; and a metal complex dye. M 1 (LA)(LD)(Z 1 )·(CI) Formula (1) In formula (I), M 1 represents a metal atom; Z 1 represents a monodentate ligand; LA represents a tridentate ligand represented by formula (AL-1); LD represents a bidentate ligand represented by formula (DL-1) and CI represents counter ions necessary for neutralizing the electrical charge. In formula (AL-1) and formula (DL-1), each of Za, Zb and Zc represents a non-metal atom group forming a five- or six-membered ring, provided that at least one of the rings formed by Za, Zb and Zc has an acidic group; m1 represents an integer of 0-3; m2 represents an integer of 1-4; n1 represents an integer of 1-4; l1 represents an integer 0-3; L 1 represents an arylene group, an alkynylene group or an alkynylene arylene group; and R 1 represents an amino group, an alkylamino group, an arylamino group, a heteroarylamino group, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkylthio group or an arylthio group. |
