The invention relates to medical and dental prosthetic devices and implants having improved properties for promoting soft tissue healing in high-risk patients. The present invention concerns dental prosthetic devices and implants partially and/or fully coated with covalently bound doxycycline. The invention relates to medical and dental prosthetic devices and implants having improved properties for promoting soft tissue healing. The invention further relates to the use of Doxycycline for promoting soft tissue healing and/or preventing inflammation and/or infection in soft tissue in proximity to a medical prosthetic device or implant deployed in the body of a patient belonging to a group high-risk patient group. |
