abstract | The present invention relates to a composition comprising: (a) an X143 polypeptide having retrograded starch degrading activity and (b) a sulfur-containing compound, and/or a heterocyclic compound (reducing agent), wherein the combination of the X143 polypeptide having retrograded starch degrading activity and a sulfur-containing compound and/or a heterocyclic compound (reducing agent), and/or a cellobiose dehydrogenase, enhances degradation of retrograded starch material by the X143 polypeptide. The present invention further relates to a method for degrading or converting a retrograded starch material, comprising: treating the retrograded starch material with an enzyme composition in the presence of an X143 polypeptide having retrograded starch degrading activity and a sulfur-containing compound and/or a heterocyclic compound (reducing agent), and/or a cellobiose dehydrogenase, wherein the combination of the polypeptide having retrograded starch degrading activity and the sulfur-containing compound and/or the heterocyclic compound (reducing agent), and/or the cellobiose dehydrogenase enhances degradation of the retrograded starch material by the enzyme composition. |
