abstract Provided is a non-aqueous secondary cell having excellent load characteristics, continuous charging characteristics, and charge/discharge cycle characteristics under high temperatures. This non-aqueous secondary cell is characterized in having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a non-aqueous electrolyte; a positive electrode material in which the surfaces of positive electrode active material particles are coated with an Al-containing oxide being used in the positive electrode; the average coating thickness of the Al-containing oxide being 5-50 nm; the positive electrode material containing at least a positive electrode material (a) having an average particle diameter of 1-40 μm and a positive electrode material (b) that has an average particle diameter of 1-40 μm, the average particle diameter being smaller than that of the positive electrode material (a); the positive electrode material having a specific surface area of 0.1-0.4 2 /g; the positive electrode active material contained in the positive electrode material (a) and the positive electrode active material contained in the positive electrode material (b) both being lithium cobaltate having a specific composition; and the non-aqueous electrolyte containing a fluorine-containing lithium salt.
