abstract | A motion regulation mechanism for a sprinkler, the regulation mechanism comprising a base with a circumferential base pattern; a positioner arm having a positioner arm tip spaced at a gap distance from the base pattern, the base and the positioner arm tip being configured for rotary motion with respect to one another; a driven member interposed between the base and the positioner arm so that a portion thereof is dynamically received within the gap distance. The driven member has a circumferential motion pattern configured for engaging the base pattern, and a contact contour configured for traveling therealong of the positioner arm tip so that the rotary motion entails displacement of the driven member with respect to the base. The motion pattern is constituted by one or more first-type portions matching the base pattern, and one or more second-type portions not matching the base pattern; a resistance mechanism configured for creating resistance to displacement of the driven member with respect to the base. |
