titleOfInvention Bone fixation device for use in guided growth and as a tension band
abstract The invention relates to a design concept for a bone fixation device, which can be used both for closing the physis and for the fixation of fractures by means of a tension band, where said device is based on the concept of two fixed ends connected by flexible wire, which facilitates both the fitting thereof and the use thereof, also allowing minimally invasive surgery to be carried out as a result of the small size of the implant, the profile of which must be as low as possible in order to prevent damaging the tissues during the surgery. In this way, the design of the device of the invention allows the retaining screws to be located as far as possible from the physis, i.e. in the safe zone, thereby reducing ischaemia in the physis, and furthermore, the surgery can be carried out percutaneously.
