abstract | The present invention provides a translation system for expressing a polypeptide that has a prescribed amino acid sequence according to a code different from the universal genetic code, wherein the translation system includes: a template nucleic acid having a sequence in which codons encoding at least two amino acids among serine, leucine, and alanine have been replaced in a nucleic acid sequence for encoding a polypeptide; and at least one of the following (i) or (ii). (i) Aminoacyl tRNA which has an anticodon to a post-replacement codon and to which an amino acid encoded by a pre-replacement codon has been bound. (ii) tRNA which has an anticodon to a post-replacement codon and which is recognized by aminoacyl tRNA synthetase corresponding to an amino acid encoded by a pre-replacement codon, or a nucleic acid encoding the same; the amino acid; and the aminoacyl tRNA synthetase or a nucleic acid encoding the same. |
