A field device for automation technology, comprising a measurement pickup for ascertaining a measurement signal and a measurement transducer for outputting a physical variable of a medium, which physical variable is ascertained from the measurement signal, in a container and/or a pipe and/or a material property of the medium, which material property is ascertained from the measurement signal, wherein the field device has at least one housing of the measurement pickup and/or of the measurement transducer, in which housing electronic components of the measurement pickup and/or of the measurement transducer are arranged, characterized in that the electronic components are embedded in an epoxy polymer foam which is a reaction product from a self-foaming encapsulation compound comprising at least the following constituents: a) 25 to 75% by weight of a diglycidyl ether resin; b) at least one amine-containing curing system comprising a Mannich base; and c) at least one propellant, and a method for producing a field device for automation technology. |
