abstract In this molded surface fastener (1, 2, 3, 4), engaging elements (20, 50, 60, 70, 70a) comprise a columnar stem portion (21, 71), and minute claw portions (23, 53, 63, 73, 73a) which, viewing the engaging elements (20, 50, 60, 70, 70a) in plan view, protrude outwards from the top outer edge (25, 75) of the stem portion (21, 71). The claw width dimension (A) of the minute claw portions (23, 53, 63, 73, 73a) is smaller than the line segment connecting two points on the top outer edge (25, 75) of the stem portion (21, 71). The minute claw portions (23, 53, 63, 73, 73a) project towards the base portion (10), and gaps (26, 76) are provided between the minute claw portions (23, 53, 63, 73, 73a) and the outer peripheral surface of the stem portion (21, 71). This molded surface fastener (1, 2, 3, 4) has a high peel strength and shear strength with respect to a female surface fastener.
