titleOfInvention Container to support tissue sample tray
abstract A container (200) contains a tissue sample tray (100) with tissue samples disposed thereon. The container (200) fits in a radiograph machine (300) and thereby allows the tissue samples to be radiographically imaged. The container (200) also defines openings (214, 254, 256) allowing fixation fluid to immerse the tissue samples in the container (200) when the container (200) is immersed in the fixation fluid. The container (200) includes a base (210) and a lid (250). The base (210) includes a floor (227) and sidewalls (226) that cooperate to define a compartment (228), which is configured to receive a tissue sample tray (100). A plurality of bosses (230, 232) extend upwardly from the floor (227) and are configured to maintain positioning of a tissue sample tray (100) received in the compartment (228). The lid (250) is configured to enable placement of a tissue sample tray (100) in the compartment (228) when the lid (250) is open. The lid (250) is configured to enclose a tissue sample tray (100) in the compartment (228) when the lid (250) is closed.
