Organic electroluminescent image display device |
abstract |
The present invention provides an organic electroluminescent (EL) image display device comprising, in the order given, a reflecting layer, an organic electroluminescent layer group, a polarization separation layer, and a circular polarization plate. The polarization separation layer includes polarization separation sites disposed in a matrix so as to correspond to the organic electroluminescent layer group. The polarization separation sites reflect one form of polarized light from among the light emitted by the corresponding organic electroluminescent layer while allowing other forms of polarized light to pass through. The polarization separation layer is segmented by regions permeable by visible light to form the polarization separation sites. The wavelength band of the reflection is wider than the wavelength of the emitted light. This organic EL image display device provides high brightness for both front viewing and oblique viewing, with little image-blurring. |
