The invention relates to a method for generating an activating signal (A) for a direct current circuit breaker (22), which is arranged between a high-voltage direct current source (11) and a high-voltage direct current transmission line (24). In the method, a voltage present on the high-voltage direct current transmission line (24) is measured, thereby obtaining direct voltage measurement values (Um), and a current flowing through the high-voltage direct current transmission line (24) is measured, thereby obtaining direct current measurement values (Im). By evaluating the direct voltage measurement values (Um) and the direct current measurement values (Im), a fault (230) present on the high-voltage direct current transmission line is detected and the activating signal (A) for the direct current circuit breaker (22) is subsequently generated. |
