A method for preparing a hydrogel product comprising cross-linked glycosaminoglycan molecules, said method comprising: i) providing a cross-linked glycosaminoglycan, said glycosaminoglycan being at least partially N-deacetylated so that the cross-linked glycosaminoglycan comprises free amine groups; and ii) covalently grafting an aldehyde or hemiacetal functional dextran or cyclodextrin to the free amino groups of the crosslinked glycosaminoglycan. |
