abstract |
It is an object of the present invention to provide: a method for reusing a catalyst for the production of carbonate ester by restoring the activity on the catalyst with a simple procedure and without complex steps such as cooking; and a method of using said regenerated catalyst to produce a high yielding carbonate ester. This object is achieved by a method of regenerating a catalyst containing CeO 2, which is used in a carbonate ester generation reaction to generate a carbonate ester from carbon dioxide and alcohol, the process of catalyst regeneration comprising: (a) a separation step for separating the catalyst as a crude catalyst from a reaction solution of carbon dioxide and alcohol; and (b) a catalyst treatment step for cleaning the crude catalyst with a cleaning alcohol to produce a purified catalyst. |
