SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING ELECTROLYTIC BIOCIDE FOR USE ON BOARD A BOAT |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a biocide generation system for inhibiting biofouling in a water system of a boat. The water system is configured to suck up water from a body of water on which the boat rests. The biocide generation system comprises: an electrode arrangement adapted to be incorporated as part of an electrolytic cell through which the water of the water system flows; and a control system that interacts with the electrode arrangement, the control system including a power supply circuit for establishing a flow of electrical current between the first and second electrodes of the electrode arrangement so as to generating a biocide in the water inside the electrolytic cell, the control system comprising a switching device operable in a first switching configuration where the first electrode is an anode and the second electrode is a cathode, the switching device also operable in a second switching configuration where the first electrode is a cathode and the second electrode is an anode. An electrode arrangement adapted to be incorporated as part of an electrolytic cell through which the water of the water system flows. |
