abstract |
A lead acid storage battery which is provided with: an electrode plate group which comprises a negative electrode plate, a positive electrode plate and a separator that is interposed between the negative electrode plate and the positive electrode plate; and an electrolyte solution. This lead acid storage battery is configured such that: the negative electrode plate contains a negative electrode material that contains a first carbon material and a second carbon material; the first carbon material has a particle diameter of 32 μm or more; the second carbon material has a particle diameter of less than 32 μm; the ratio of the powder resistance R2 of the second carbon material to the powder resistance R1 of the first carbon material, namely R2/R1 is from 20 to 200 (inclusive); and the distance D between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate and the maximum thickness T of the separator satisfy relational expression -0.1 mm ≤ (D - T) ≤ 0.1 mm. |
