A method for diagnosing prostate cancer in a subject, the method comprises measuring the methylation level of at least one CpG locus in a sample from the subject, wherein the at least one CpG locus is selected from the loci listed in Table 1 and/or is within about 1000, 900, 800, 700, 600, 500, 400, 300, 200, or 100 nucleotides of at least one of the loci listed in Table 1; and determining the level of similarity between the measured methylation level and a predefined level indicative of prostate cancer, wherein a high degree of similarity between the measured methylation level and the predefined level indicates the presence or increased likelihood of prostate cancer. |
