An external preparation containing the following component (A) and component (B). Component (A): ionic polymer particles containing (a) one or more hydrophobic monomers selected from the group consisting of styrene and derivatives thereof, vinyl esters, and hydrophobic acrylic monomers, and (b) a structural unit derived from an ionic hydrophilic monomer or a salt thereof, the mass ratio (a)/(b) of (a) and (b) being 99.5/0.5-80/20, and the glass transition temperature being higher than 5°C and no higher than 120°C. Component (B): One or more compounds selected from the group consisting of phenoxyethanol (B1), 2-ethylhexyl p-methoxy cinnamate (B2), benzyl alcohol (B3), sorbitol (B4), specific oxyalkylene derivatives (B5), polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucosides (B6), oleic acid (B7), alkyl benzoates (B8), xylitol (B9), (RS)-2-cyano-3,3-diphenylprop-2-enoic acid-2-ethylhexyl ester (B10), and methyl phenyl polysiloxane (B11). |
