Disclosed are supported catalyst compositions for catalyzing isomerization of n-paraffin hydrocarbons, process of preparing the supported catalyst composition and process of producing iso-paraffin hydrocarbons by isomerization of n-paraffin hydrocarbons using the supported catalyst composition. The supported catalyst composition contains, a noble metal and a sulfated support, the sulfated support contains an oxide or hydroxide of a group IV element and/or of aluminum, a group VIII metal oxide and a group V metal oxide or a group VI metal oxide or both, with weight ratio of the noble metal to the group VIII metal is 1:1 to 1:5. |
