abstract Provided is a fluorine gas manufacturing method that can suppress blockage of piping and valves by mist. Fluorine gas is manufactured by a method that comprises: an electrolysis step in which electrolysis of an electrolyte is performed in the interior of an electrolytic cell; a sound intensity measurement step in which the intensity of sound produced near an anode in the interior of the electrolytic cell is measured; and an air feed step in which a fluid produced in the interior of the electrolytic cell during electrolysis of the electrolyte is fed from the interior of the electrolytic cell to an external section via a channel. In the air feed step, the channel through which the fluid flows is switched in accordance with the intensity of the sound measured in the sound intensity measurement step. If the intensity of the sound measured in the sound intensity measurement step is at or below a reference value set in advance, the fluid is fed into a first channel through which the fluid is fed from the interior of the electrolytic cell to a first external section, and if the intensity of the sound is above the reference value set in advance, the fluid is fed into a second channel through which the fluid is fed from the interior of the electrolytic cell to a second external section. The reference value set in advance is in the range 10–60 dB.
