titleOfInvention | Material processing system |
abstract | A system is disclosed for processing materials, in particular a material or fabric web, passing between at least two permeable endless belts, e.g. screening belts or similar conveyor means, in particular for displacement washing of filter cakes or for washing fibrous materials. The material is fed between the belts past a supply or drainage container of a processing substance, for example a washing liquid. The main purpose of the invention is to save energy and space for the washing of filter cakes or the like, to reduce the production cost of such processing systems and improve their washing properties. The processing containers are thus arranged one above the other, in particular normal to each other, and the belts with the material located therebetween pass vertically around or between the processing containers, forming loops, slings or undulations. This is particularly the case of gravity counterflow processing, preferably gravity displacement washing. The material and the belts are first routed past the lower processing container, and the processign liquid, for example fresh water, first supplied to the upper processing container, advantageously under pressure. The processing containers have on their side facing the upper side of the belts or material, in particular the lower side of the container, openings through which the processing liquid is supplied to the belts or material or transmitted to further processing containers located therebelow. |
