abstract The present invention is directed to the cloning, identification and uses of the human Y-1 type neuropeptide Y/peptide YY receptor. The isolated DNA clone is expressed in COS1 cells for ligand binding competition assay. Also described is a new principle for the development of an inhibitor of the contractile responses of neuropeptide Y in human blood vessels by the use of an antisense oligodeoxynucleotide complementary to the human Y-Y1 receptor mRNA.
