titleOfInvention Seal plate attachement for earmuffs
abstract A seal plate attachment (10) for earmuffs. The seal plate attachment (10) has a first (12) and second (30) portion including substantially flat surfaces (14, 32), outer perimeters (16, 34), and inner perimeters (17, 35) defining central openings (18, 36). The first portion (12) of the seal plate attachment (10) includes a first channel (20) extending around a section of the outer perimeter (16). The seal plate attachment (10) second portion (30) includes a rim (40), projecting inwardly from and extending around a section of the outer perimeter (34). The rim (40) of the seal plate attachment (10) second portion (30) forms a second channel (42) to oppose the first channel (20) on the seal plate attachment (10) first portion (12), allowing the second portion (30) to be slidable relative to the first portion (12). An improved earmuff design includes rigid earcup elements (11), a connecting band, and soft sealing elements (33) in combination with the seal plate attachments (10) for earmuffs.
