abstract | The invention concerns the structural design of a Danner muffle for producing glass tubing from a continuous strand. The object is to adapt the Danner muffle to the size of the Danner pipe such that it can be structurally modified. The Danner muffle comprises a steel support structure with a plurality of steel carrier modules and a self-supporting framework of refractory carrier modules. The Danner muffle further comprises a plurality of heating modules, disposed about the Danner pipe, and a frit opening which can be closed. All the modules are interchangeable and disposed such that they can be adjusted relative to one another. |
