A multimedia optical disk on which a plurality of objects including motion video data, audio data and sub-video data are recorded. Each of the objects is recorded over continuous small areas, and each small area (VOBU#400-VOBU#500 in the Figure) comprises a first sub-area for motion video data, a plurality of second sub-areas for audio data different from each other, a plurality of third sub-areas for sub-video data different from each other, and a fourth sub-area for management information for indicating to a reproducing apparatus a combination of audio data and sub-video data to be reproduced. This arrangement makes it possible to dynamically switch the reproduced outputs of audio data and sub-video data even during reproduction. |
