abstract The invention concerns the use of non-particulate sorbents for preparative separating methods, in particular for separating methods operating according to the simulated moving bed (SMB) principle. In particular, the invention concerns the use of monolithic sorbents based on porous shaped bodies which comprise interconnected macropores and mesopores in the macropore walls, the diameter of the macropores having a median of more than 0.1 mu m, and the diameter of the mesopores having a median of between 2 and 100 nm. The invention also concerns the use of sorbents consisting of modified polyamide containing separation effectors that are bonded to the polyamide amino groups via a bridge group for separation methods carried out according to the simulated moving bed (SMB) principle.
