An appealing move that can be used repeatedly without boring the audience.

Secret Sword (Japanese: しんぴのつるぎ Secret Sword) is a damage-dealing Fighting-type move introduced in Generation V. It is the signature move of Keldeo.

Effect

151Mew.png This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Check whether this move apply stat modifiers inconsistently, as in Foul Play and Body Press: stat stage modifiers of the replacement stat and non-stage stat modifiers of the original stat.
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Secret Sword inflicts damage. Secret Sword uses the target's Defense instead of its Special Defense to calculate damage. Otherwise, it is considered a special move: it uses the user's Special Attack, activates Mirror Coat and Maranga Berry (not Counter or Kee Berry), has its damage reduced by Light Screen (not Reflect), etc.

If used by a Pokémon with Sharpness, Secret Sword's power is increased by 50%.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Secret Sword cannot be selected in a battle.

Generation IX

In Versions 1.0 to 2.0.2 of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Secret Sword could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 3.0.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.

Other effects

If Keldeo is taught Secret Sword between Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it will change into its Resolute Form. If it forgets Secret Sword, it returns to its Ordinary Form. Keldeo knowing Secret Sword in Pokémon Black and White remain in its Ordinary Form in other games. In addition, Resolute Form Keldeo knowing Secret Sword in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 cannot be traded to Pokémon Black and White as the data for the form does not exist in those games.

In Pokémon Sword and Shield onwards, Keldeo in its Ordinary Form with Secret Sword will change to Resolute Form when it is in the party and either a battle ends or a move is taught to any Pokémon in the party.
