Thanks for deleting Talk:Treaty of Versailles! I previously blanked it because of vandalism.

I noticed that, if a reader now goes to Talk:Treaty of Versailles, the user interface has now preserved the vandalism in the automatically generated deleted page warning header (including the swear words). The Wikimedia interface has thus made the vandalism permanent, rather than hiding it.

'Living With God' Copyright violation

Hi - I saw you flagged an image I posted, which is the cover of a book called 'Living With God: The Autobiography of Guru Sri Subramanium'. Now, I am editing Wikipedia pages on behalf of the organisation he founded, and have been allowed to use these images and release them onto Wikimedia Commons on their behalf - how to sort out the copyright issue then, do you know? Hi - you've deleted a user page this afternoon - that I placed here just this morning at the request of the on-screen instructions.

Do you realize that Wikipedia's on-screen instructions encourage users to create a personalized user page?

I am new to the system and thought that I was just following directions - I was not trying to create a wikipedia page about myself - as I think your note implied.

Photo Recently Deleted

I have recently uploaded 2 photographs that have been removed for possible copyright infringement. Maybe I do not understand the policies completely but I do own these photographs and intended to release them to be used and modified freely with credit given to me. Is this not acceptable? Photo Recently Deleted

I have also additionally had images deleted, I believe unjustly. The images were provided for the Alien Franchise Creature page on Wikipedia, perhaps their upload details were incorrect, in terms of Copyright designations. However the images are directly from the source materials (films), the exception being the 1979 Alien Design image which is from the book "H.R Giger's Alien" if this is unsatisfactory.

Then in all fairness the other images featured on the article are also fair game and should be removed, if this is satisfactory- I request the images be undeleted with the caveat that "fair use" be attributed by yourself to the images, so this doesn't occur again. I plan to do a massive overhaul of the page, removing incorrect and outdated information. I would be very grateful if you would attend to this.

Thank you Herbythyme for blocking the socks Feriorin, Phonysym, Phonicsym, Fertilityin and Fernityin. Could you do the same for his other socks too? The only ones still not blocked should be Phetamineam and Fortcom, but all of them also made vandalisms that were not reverted, both edits and user pages or talk page creations, the first should be reverted and the second deleted, have a look. The LTA behind all that is without any doubt the noted Wikinger: he is mimicking a user who was blocked in en.wikipedia for abusing multiple accounts, and now Wikinger is copying the messages he wrote with his accounts in the same users' talk pages in en.wiktionary and commons.wikimedia, all this just to create confusion and make fun of admins. --185.15.208.26 22:21, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Recently deleted article/picture page including description is okay. we can bear. Its okay with a warning message. Including me some of them doesn't knows first time.

And another thing i ask is , its right its for educational purpose. If its educational purpose for other people at least let us do or give or produce something which can give some worthy things. i mean some charts/something as you mentioned.

Then other than "Completely shattered and fully deleting our user page and everything including me" is it justice.

Policies is good, everyone will accept. I also taken LIC. But within these policies there is our user page also very sad.

question about removal of image: File:Tiamat's_Wrath_Cover

@Herbythyme: - Over the weekend I missed the speedy deletion notice of the cover image from Tiamat's Wrath. The bot notice says "You can see the reason for deletion at the file description page linked above." (Tiamats Wrath Cover.jpg]) but now that it has been speedily deleted, I can't actually see the reason. Can you tell me why it was deleted? I know that images on WP are tricky, and I tried modeling the use based on how other book covers have been treated. Is there something I could have done differently to make it acceptable? I'm trying to do it right, but the results suggest that I've missed the mark. Thanks for your help -Kenirwin (talk) 14:34, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

@Kenirwin: - slightly puzzled - you would not have had notice of it as you were not the uploader? Either way it is perfecty straightforward - it is a book cover and the artwork will almost always be copyrighted by the publisher. I'm not aware of any publishers who freely licese their artwork so in short there is nothing you can do that relates to Commons. However on Wikipedia you should be able to upload it as "fair use". After puzzling through the logs, I see what happened: I had uploaded a small image under fair use to Wikipedia in compliance with their policy; then someone came along and added the image (maybe or maybe no the same one) to Commons, in violation of their policy, which then got deleted.
