- Batalla del Bogside (en anglès: Battle of Bogside; en gaèlic: Cath Thaobh an Phortaigh) és el nom donat als disturbis que es van produir durant 3 dies d'agost de 1969 al barri del Bogside, a la ciutat nordirlandesa de Derry/Londonderry, entre residents del barri catòlic i la policia local (la Royal Ulster Constabulary, RUC). Els disturbis van tenir lloc entre el 12 i el 14 d'agost de 1969, després que el RUC tractés de dispersar una manifestació nacionalista que protestava per la desfilada dels Aprenents de Derry (Apprentice Boys) per les muralles de la ciutat, confrontants amb el barri nacionalista-catòlic del Bogside. - The Battle of the Bogside was a large three-day riot that took place from 12 to 14 August 1969 in Derry, Northern Ireland. Thousands of Catholic/Irish nationalist residents of the Bogside district, organised under the Derry Citizens' Defence Association, clashed with the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) and loyalists. It sparked widespread violence elsewhere in Northern Ireland, led to the deployment of British troops, and is often seen as the beginning of the thirty-year conflict known as the Troubles. Violence broke out as the Protestant loyalist Apprentice Boys marched past the Catholic Bogside. The RUC drove back the Catholic crowd and pushed into the Bogside, followed by loyalists who attacked Catholic homes. Thousands of Bogside residents beat back the RUC with a hail of stones and petrol bombs. The besieged residents built barricades, set up first aid posts and petrol bomb workshops, and a radio transmitter broadcast messages calling for resistance. The RUC fired CS gas into the Bogside – the first time it had been used by UK police. Residents feared the Ulster Special Constabulary would be sent in and would massacre Catholic residents. The Irish Army set up field hospitals near the border and the Irish government called for a United Nations peacekeeping force to be sent to Derry. On 14 August, the British Army were deployed and the RUC were withdrawn. The British Army made no attempt to enter the Bogside, which became a no-go area called Free Derry. This situation continued until October 1969 when military police were allowed in. (en)

- La bataille du Bogside est le nom donné à trois jours d'émeutes opposant la population catholique du Bogside à la police royale de l'Ulster (RUC), à Derry en Irlande du Nord, entre le 12 et le 14 août 1969. Tout débuta par une marche des Apprentice Boys of Derry, réunissant 15 000 protestants le long du mur d'enceinte de Derry, près du quartier catholique du Bogside. Le gouvernement avait hésité à autoriser son déroulement au vu des risques de violence. La Police royale d'Ulster (RUC) intervint dans le Bogside alors que se déroulaient des réunions opposées à cette marche. La population se souleva et érigea des barricades tout autour du quartier, organisant son autodéfense autour de la . La RUC et les Ulster Special Constabulary essayèrent de réinvestir le Bogside, suivis immédiatement par les loyalistes qui s'attaquèrent à la population et aux maisons. L'embrasement se répandit dans d'autres villes d'Irlande du Nord, notamment Belfast, Armagh et Newry, où se multiplièrent les agressions de catholiques.
