September 2011 bei der Gründungsversammlung auf Schloss Ort in Oberösterreich gegründet. Gründungsmitglieder waren Robert Marschall (Obmann), Elisabeth Sabler (Schriftführerin) und Veronika Lindinger (Kassierin). Am 7. Oktober 2011 erlangte die EU-Austrittspartei Rechtspersönlichkeit mittels Hinterlegung der Satzungen beim österreichischen Innenministerium. Am 2. August 2013 schaffte die EU-Austrittspartei die Kandidatur zur Nationalratswahl 2013 im Bundesland Vorarlberg. In Vorarlberg konnte das notwendige Quorum von 100 Unterstützerunterschriften mit 125 Unterschriften erreicht werden, in anderen Bundesländern gelang dies nicht.
