- Jehovah's Witnesses's practices are based on the biblical interpretations of Charles Taze Russell (1852–1916), founder (c. 1881) of the Bible Student movement, and of successive presidents of the Watch Tower Society, Joseph Franklin Rutherford (from 1917 to 1942) and Nathan Homer Knorr (from 1942 to 1977). Since 1976, practices have also been based on decisions made at closed meetings of the group's Governing Body. The group disseminates instructions regarding activities and acceptable behavior through The Watchtower magazine and through other official publications, and at conventions and congregation meetings. Jehovah's Witnesses endeavor to remain "separate from the world", which they regard as a place of moral contamination and under the control of Satan. Witnesses refuse to participate in any political and military activity and are told to limit social contact with non-Witnesses. The denomination requires adherence to a strict moral code, which forbids premarital sex, homosexuality, gender transitioning, adultery, smoking, drunkenness and drug abuse, and blood transfusions. A system of judicial committees maintains discipline within congregations, exercising the power to expel members who breach the denomination's rules and to demand their shunning by other Witnesses. The threat of shunning also serves to deter members from dissident behavior. Members are expected to participate regularly in evangelizing work and to attend congregation meetings and conventions that present material based on Watch Tower Society publications. (en)
- Les pratiques des Témoins de Jéhovah comportent comme principales cérémonies le Mémorial (célébration annuelle de la Cène) et le baptême. Elles incluent l'assistance régulière aux réunions de la congrégation( nom actuellement : l’assemblée) , qui se tiennent dans les salles du Royaume (leurs lieux de culte), ainsi que la prédication. Les Témoins de Jéhovah ne célèbrent pas les fêtes religieuses traditionnelles telles que Noël, Pâques ou la Toussaint. Ils ne célèbrent pas non plus les anniversaires de naissance et les fêtes patriotiques. Mis à part le Mémorial, les célébrations habituellement acceptées chez eux sont le mariage et les anniversaires de mariage, entre autres. (fr)

Świadkowie Jehowy uważają, że wszelkie wierzenia i praktyki religijne chrześcijan powinny być oparte na Piśmie Świętym; nie mogą być one wytworem ludzkiego umysłu, opierać się na tradycji sprzecznej z Biblią lub na ludzkiej filozofii. Ich zdaniem oddawanie czci Bogu stanowi najważniejszą powinność każdego człowieka, a praktyki religijne są uznane przez Boga tylko wtedy, gdy wypływają ze szczerych pobudek i są zgodne z wymaganiami zawartymi w Biblii. Uważają, że religia musi wpływać na codzienne życie człowieka. Praktykowanie religii nie jest dla nich tylko jednym z elementów życia, ale drogą życiową, tzn. zasadom wiary podporządkowane mają być wszystkie sprawy nie tylko związane z oddawaniem czci Bogu, ale też życie codzienne.
