- Curling se na zimních olympijských hrách objevil už v roce 1924 v Chamonix, ale až před ZOH v Turíně roku 2006 rozhodl mezinárodní olympijský výbor o tom, že curling na ZOH 1924 byl oficiálním sportem zimní olympiády a ne sportem ukázkovým. Poté vypadl z oficiálního programu ZOH na dlouhých 74 let. Několikrát se sice objevil na ZOH jako ukázkový sport jako v letech 1932, 1988 a 1992, ale až v roce 1998 v Naganu se stal opět oficiálním sportem zimních olympijských her. (cs)

- Le curling est un sport d'équipe qui est disputé aux Jeux olympiques d'hiver. Le tournoi masculin a eu lieu pour la première fois lors des Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 1924 avant d'être retiré du programme officiel jusqu'au Jeux de 1988. Durant 82 ans, le tournoi de 1924 a été considéré comme un sport de démonstration, de fait les médailles n'étaient pas prises en compte par le Comité international olympique. Le tournoi a été remporté par une équipe du Royal Caledonian Curling Club, un club écossais, qui représentait la Grande-Bretagne. En 2006, le journal écossais The Herald a mené une enquête qui a trouvé des preuves montrant que le curling avait fait partie du programme officiel des premiers Jeux d'hiver. Le CIO a alors reconnu les trois premières équipes médaillées. Bien que ne faisant pas partie du programme officiel, le curling a été inclus aux Jeux en tant que sport de démonstration en 1932, 1988 et 1992. - Curling is a team sport that is contested at the Winter Olympic Games. A men's tournament was held at the 1924 Winter Olympics before the sport was removed from the official programme until the 1998 Games. For 82 years, the 1924 tournament was considered a demonstration sport, so the medals were not officially counted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The tournament was won by a team from the Royal Caledonian Curling Club in Scotland, who represented Great Britain. In 2006, Scottish newspaper The Herald conducted an investigation that found evidence that curling had been part of the official programme. Both the men's and women's tournaments have been held at every Winter Olympics since. In total, 132 athletes have won a medal in curling, and 11 have won two. In 2010, Anette Norberg, Eva Lund, Cathrine Lindahl and Anna Le Moine of Sweden won the gold medal in the women's tournament, becoming the first curlers to win consecutive gold medals. Teams from Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, and the United States have also won gold medals in the sport. Pierwszy turniej olimpijski w curlingu rozegrano już podczas pierwszych zimowych igrzysk, w 1924 roku w Chamonix. Wyniki tego turnieju uznano jednak za oficjalne dopiero w 2006 roku i pośmiertnie uznano najlepsze trzy drużyny tych zawodów za medalistów olimpijskich. Na igrzyskach w Lake Placid w 1932 roku, w Calgary w 1988 roku i w Albertville w 1992 roku curling był dyscypliną pokazową – w Lake Placid rozegrano turniej mężczyzn, a w Calgary i Albertville turnieje kobiet i mężczyzn. Ponadto, na igrzyskach w Garmisch-Partenkirchen w 1936 roku i na igrzyskach w Innsbrucku w 1964 roku rozegrano pokazowe turnieju w curlingu bawarskim (niem. Eisstockschießen). Jeszcze w trakcie igrzysk badania wykazały u Kruszelnickiego stosowanie meldonium. Para została zdyskwalifikowana, a brązowy medal przyznano sklasyfikowanej na czwartym miejscu parze norweskiej. (pl)
