Abstract

We investigate long-distance space-division multiplexed self-homodyne transmission in two synchronized recirculating loops. Compared to intradyne detection, PDM-64QAM transmission distance with DFB lasers is doubled and 6800km PDM-QPSK transmission, within 1dB of intradyne detection, is achieved.
