Article is confusing re: military service
editIn the Honours section, it says, "Philippe would not have been undeserving of this honor, given his immediate engagement in Free France and his service in the army for five years..."
Yet the rest of the article elaborates on his service in the navy, not the army, and says he served from World War II until his retirement in 1980, obviously much longer than five years. 108.69.222.31 (talk) 19:39, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
Not clear that Philippe de Gaulle was named after Pétain
editThe New York Times article linked says so, but de Gaulle himself claims that his name comes from an ancestor named Philippe.[1]
