Archiving

[edit source]

One quick note on archiving: It is probably best to not archive active conversations. When you hit your design number of characters, or your design number of topic, or whatever, archive everything that's not currently being discussed. There is a bot that can be set to automatically archive any exchange that has sat idle for (e.g.) 2 weeks; I think its name is mischabot, but I don't know as i don't use it. I think User:Adrignola uses it, though... he might be able to tell you how to set it up. Chazz (talk) 07:58, 25 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

There is a tutorial at User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo. I can answer any questions that arise after reading it. My setup archives to separate archives by month like the reading rooms but numbered archives are easier to implement and better for lower-traffic pages. – Adrignola discuss 12:26, 25 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Fine, but kaush-whatever and I just finished the discussion, having added the requisite attribution to the Principles of Biochemistry pages. --Whoop whoop pull up Bitching Betty | Averted crashes 00:57, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
According to the log, your reply was only up for 3 minutes before you archived the entire conversation, hardly enough time for him to see what you had said... But it's your user page, suit yourself. Chazz (talk) 07:23, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
