Adding Images

[edit]

I think this page could use an image of newspaper, such as The North Star, Frederick Douglass Paper, etc. I found some images on the Library of Congress page [1] and also on an African American Newspaper archive [2] what do you think?DasMick (talk) 15:31, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on African-American newspapers. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

List of African-American newspapers: section -> page?

[edit]

I'm looking for consensus on whether the section listing every newspaper is substantial enough to warrant its own page (with a redirect in this article to such). Thoughts? Yea? Nay? Buddy23Lee (talk) 22:15, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The list is substantial, but the lead doesn't have enough in it to make a separate article. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 02:55, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That said, and upon consideration (and considerable editing), I have edited the list and will now make it into a separate article. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 15:56, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:African-American gospel which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 23:18, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Transcription in progress at Wikisource

[edit]

This book has been transcribed and partially proofread on Wikisource, and an effort is underway to upload high quality scans of all its photos. Please consult the Wikisource version for an easy-to-search version -- and feel free to help out with the proofreading there! Very exciting! -- Visviva (talk) 00:14, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to update this note -- the transcription is now complete (though there's still some need for validation and formatting tweaks). But it's useful in its current state. Thank you Visviva for your efforts on that!

We are hoping to launch a new phase of the News on Wiki campaign shortly, and this article and this book will likely be an area of focus if we do. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 19:29, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What book? Nothing here about it (that I can see).BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 03:30, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the pdf of the book as an illustration to this book although a tweak would be useful. See below. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:03, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The image should be adjusted so this page appears. I am not wiki savvy enough to know how to do that. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:01, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Think I fixed it, let me know if not. -- Visviva (talk) 02:48, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
