Information in the "about" section is written in unencyclopedic style and contains many value judgments and unverifiable statements. --N Shar 23:37, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed

[edit]

A photo on the school's website appears to show students working with pencil and paper. Therefore, I am doubtful that "everything is done with laptop computers." The only resaon I haven't removed the statement entirely is that it was almost certainly added by a student and was consistent with other material (now removed) added by students. --N Shar 02:01, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Suggestions for the Amendment to Disputed Statement

[edit]

For Statment: As a student of Carl Wunsche Sr. HS I would like to state the fact that: No, not everything is done with computers, while there are efforts to make all classes paperless; that revolution has not yet occured.

Suggested Amendment: Wunsche is an almost paper-less High School, doing much of it's work in labs, hands on activities, and on the provided laptops.

  • Note* Revision to my proposed amendment is needed.

Censorship of Wikipedia

[edit]

The following text was placed by what is likely a couple of disgruntled students. I removed it from the main article, but as it pertains to Wikipedia I have replaced it here. --N Shar 01:05, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Policies regarding the use of computers are over-restrictive and force students to come up with creative methods to bypass the network. Such methods are: hacking, proxies, and distribution of software from student to student. As of February 5, 2007 Wikipedia was blocked by Spring ISD. This clearly demonstrates their hostile attitude towards free, open information available on the internet. The proof is provided on this link: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Smear.png>.

Re: Censorship of Wikipedia

[edit]

Yes, as of Febuary 5, 2007 the whole wikipedia has been blocked/filtered by the Spring ISD web filter (Wunsche is part of SISD), the rest of that is biased but true, I would advise keeping it from being incorporated into the wiki. PS: Yes, certain parts of our school population do infact use those methods to bypass the school filtering techinques (also the image is an actual screenshot of a student being blocked by the fiter while attempting to access wikipedia.)

That's dumb for a school to block Wikipedia. It is useful and generally more reliable than not. --SECurtisTX | talk 19:09, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason this site was blocked was due to a percentage of the students inability to follow the appropriate rules that were given to them when they received their laptops.
