I am flattered with the declaration of the interest of multiple WikiProjects, but I hope that this does not lead to a rush to assess the article, like happened after I had Quirijn Maurits Rudolph Ver Huell only a quarter finished. I won't go into the question whether the C status for that article was deserved or not. I'd just like to point out that it does not seem fair to assess an article when it is still being written. Please don't repeat this with this article. I am far from finished with it, and because of personal circumstances don't expect to make fast progress with it. But I promise interesting material. I may jump between sections a bit as I detect new material. Today I added an article by Van der Kemp to the sources that casts an interesting light on a number of developments, like the "theft" by Raffles in 1819 of the Singapore area, and the fact that Elout more or less provoked this by trying to give Batavia the status of a forced entrepot. That I didn't find in the dissertation by Oranje, who worships Elout, whereas Van der Kemp heartily detests the man and blames him for a lot of mishaps. One learns new things every day :-) Right now I am busy nailing Buyskes indirectly to the cross (again condemned by his own words) for his covering of the actions of major Meijer in the Moluccas with his authority. Major Meijer appears to be the new (or rather, old), captain Westerling. So that would make Buyskes the new general Spoor. Ereunetes (talk) 04:52, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to mention that I added a "see-for" template at the head of the article to deal with the Commission General for the Dutch Indies that played such an important role in the Indonesian Independence era (1946-1947). For that I had to find a "for" and that turned out not to exist. So I added a few paragraphs to the History section of Dutch East Indies that should have been there in the first place, as I only had to excerpt a number of apposite articles that should serve as adequate reference material. If not "adequately referenced" those articles should provide ample references. Ereunetes (talk) 05:00, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
