How can the writer of the article possibly say that the Darqarwi order has received little attention from the west? Suely he/she is not aware of the letters of Sheikh Darqarwi tranlsted by Titus Burckhard and then later by the Murabitun movement, the tranlation of Meaning of Man by Sidi Ali al-Jamal by the same movement, the biography of ibn Ajiba the 'basic research' by the same author and other works.

Agreed, and in fact, Sheikh Nuh Ha Mim Keller has recorded the complete letters with English translation and commentary. In addition, I have attended the hadarah in Jordan, as well as Darqawi gatherings in Fez and have never seen or heard musical instruments. They are in fact haram, and there is no indication in any books that I have read, including Sheikh Alawi's in which there is any mention of musical instruments. I have also attended the Shadhili gatherings in the Husseini Mosque of Cairo, and again, no musical instruments, not even the duff. Sheikh Nuh has stated that musical instruments is not part of Shadhili gatherings. and Allah knows best. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.5.248.43 (talk) 08:00, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
