Merger proposal
[edit]I am proposing that Frank Tenpenny be merged into List of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas characters. Tenpenny's role is already sufficiently summarised in the GTA SA characters article and he isn't notable enough to have his own article. Other antagonists from other GTA games don't have their own articles either and are normally included in the "list of" articles associated with the game they come from. - I believe that Tenpenny deserves his own article, as I am working on improving it. Also, your argument that "other antagonists from other GTA games don't have their own articles either" isn't a very strong one, as Niko Bellic used to be the only protagonist of the series to have his own article, yet no-one questioned the need of his article. To add to this, I plan to start work on a Dimitri Rascalov article shortly, and once that is complete, I plan to make articles about other antagonists of the series. However, Tenpenny is currently a priority. I appreciate your concern for the removal of the article, but I believe it should stay. Thank you. -- Rhain1999 (talk to me) 12:36, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Just to be clear, I don't want to sound like I'm against the idea of having separate articles for antagonists. Its just that in the past they've been deemed not notable enough and their role in the games have already been well documented in the character articles anyway. Your argument about the Niko Bellic article is a fair one but no one had a problem with it because he was the protagonist, the main character and player controlled character of his game and not just the antagonist, a non-playable character. If you can make a good enough article and make it stick, then by all means do it. JayJ47 (talk) 03:40, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- That's actually a much stronger argument. I can see where you're coming from now. However, I'm going to try and improve this article as much as I can, and see what the outcome is then. :) -- Rhain1999 (talk to me) 08:32, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- To chime in, it isn't really a good argument to make that their role in a game makes the character less notable. It's all about the references. Chell from Portal, for example, is the protagonist yet is arguably less notable than GLaDOS, the antagonist. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 07:41, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
