Her Name

[edit]

Will somebody finally get her name right? She was born Lynn (no "e") Wagner Harding Frederick. No "Maria". Use Freebmd.org.uk/search to verify this for yourselves. It's the official Birth Marriage and Death records for the UK. The info you'll need is: Birth, Sep Qtr, 1954, mother's maiden name Sullivan. Again: Lynn Wagner Harding Frederick. This, believe it or not, is the first time her proper name has appeared anywhere on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.130.250 (talk) 17:59, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to come across this comment; intrigued by her apparent birth name, I checked on FreeBMD but came up with nothing (nor a marriage for her parents, perhaps took place overseas?). Definitely no "e" on "Lynn", and no "Maria" given. Maybe "Maria" was a confirmation name; nothing turned up on Google books with details of this at any rate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.195.195 (talk) 01:39, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I corrected the main article but unfortunately a vandal has restored the false version. 216.36.130.228 (talk) 00:28, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Whether or not the omitted "e" on "Lynne" was an error on the part of the registrar, her middle names- Wagner Harding- and alternative use of the name "Lynne Maria Frederick" (i.e., not all together as was previously in the article) are given in David Frost's ODNB entry here: https://www.oxforddnb.com/display/10.1093/ref:odnb/9780198614128.001.0001/odnb-9780198614128-e-107815;jsessionid=22EB05AB63B1E9084405DC196CA54844 ("On 24 January 1981 he married Lynne Wagner Harding Frederick, otherwise Lynne Maria Frederick (1954–1994), a former actress, widow of Peter Sellers, and daughter of Andrew Frederick, businessman.") so warrant inclusion as being supported by a top-quality source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.24.237.151 (talk) 11:59, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled

[edit]

she was an actor in the movie Phase IV from 1973

Schizo

[edit]

She had a starring role in the 1976 film Schizo. There is no page on wikipedia for the film, but it is listed on imdb.

I do have the film, if details are required I can provide from the credits, but I will not do the page for it. Kid Bugs (talk) 14:47, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes there is. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizo_(1976_film) FosTheBoss94 (talk) 09:52, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisting?

[edit]

It's mentioned that Lynne Frederick was blacklisted in Hollywood at least twice in the article yet no references/citations are given to back this up. Blacklisting is a very emotive word to use for obvious reasons in regard to Hollywood activity and really should have corroborating evidence. Her lack of acting roles after Sellers death might be attributable to a variety of reasons including the natural arc of an actors popularity, not being able to network, etc. etc.. The mention of blacklisting should probably be removed until corroborated. Indieshack (talk) 07:25, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it's an odd term to use. The fact is she became very unpopular after Sellers' death, particularly in Britain but also in the US. Sellers' children loathed her and public opinion mostly took their side, seeing her as a manipulative and cynical golddigger. She was never a particularly impressive actress despite her beauty, and this combined with her personal unpopulartity meant that the roles dried up. --Ef80 (talk) 21:31, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I wonder myself what part was played in this not by her inheritance from Sellers, but by media mogul David Frost after she divorced him calling him an egotist. 216.36.130.250 (talk) 17:51, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tabloid Style

[edit]

This article suffers from tabloid writing style. Even if it was cited, it is not encyclopaedic in any way. Let's tidy this up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.141.106.240 (talk) 21:26, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the quantity of uncited comments is appalling. And given her own and her mother's comments on her dislike of hard liquor it's irresponsible to refer to problems with alcoholism without a reputable source. Pascalulu88 (talk) 00:36, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
