PC candidate

[edit]

Was Max the PC canadidate in Burin—Burgeo in the 1972 election, or is this a different Max Keeping? Ground Zero | t 18:58, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. I would imagine it was a different person. Ardenn 19:17, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find anything to confirm or refute. I think Max Keeping was already in Ottawa in 1972. -- Samir धर्म 23:00, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
While he was in Ottawa (according to his bio) he was also from the Burin peninsula AND the Max Keeping in question is listed as a journalist. Perhaps it is possible he ran while living in Ottawa? Maybe we can email CJOH. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 23:05, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll e-mail CJOH. It's looking more like it is Max -- Samir धर्म 23:07, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Any word? --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 07:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. I e-mailed twice. Will try my contacts in Elections Canada -- Samir धर्म 09:35, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Two sources e-mailed back uncertain and recommended e-mailing CJOH... I'll try e-mailing CJOH again -- Samir धर्म 06:11, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Mr. Keeping ran in that election. I remember. Que-Can 23:27, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LGBT

[edit]

I was unaware Max was an open member of the LGBT community - verification? Konowl 06:50, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can certainly vouch for the fact that when I lived in Ottawa fifteen years ago, nary a person in the city didn't know... Bearcat 08:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a commonly accepted fact, much like the fact Jim Watson and John Baird are. However, I haven't been able to find any proof, to be honest. No one has objected until now, though. -- Earl Andrew - talk 15:37, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It might be a commonly accepted fact, but until he himself publically acknowledges this "fact", what right do we have to STATE it as fact on Wikipedia.User:Konowl
Upon retirement, Mr. Keeping talked about his grandchildren. What's this all about?70.54.50.115 (talk) 22:32, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Green?

[edit]

Landed here via a random lookup. The Tom Green "controversy" mentioned on the front page struck me as a bit out of place. Do we know the claim is true? Is it relevant? If indeed it was major news and is significant, then by all means (though should be cited?). If not, or if it was added by a random drive-by editor, suggest removal. Removing due to no response in one week. Martinp (talk) 17:21, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
