The lead states he's a billionaire philanthropist; if this is because of his Amazon stake this should be made clearer. Presumably, per the article, he worked a standard, decent (upper-) middle class job at Exxon his whole life, leading to having enough to give Jeff for Amazon, and getting plenty back in return?
