Huh?
[edit]What does this mean:
- "He has also held the positions of; Chairman of the academy of Medical Royal Colleges of Scotland and the United Kingdom... "
What organisations are we referring to here exactly? It must be made clear and explicit.--Mais oui! 18:42, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well thats pretty much what it says here [1]. I presume it means he held chairmenship of both organisations. YDAM TALK 20:12, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- But both what exactly??? There is no such thing as:
- Unless we establish exactly what organisations are being referred to then it must be removed, because as it stands it is just gobbledegook. --Mais oui! 20:24, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- It seems possible that it is these:
- Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
- Royal College of Physicians
- Do you agree? --Mais oui! 20:26, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Nope. He does not appear here: [2].--Mais oui! 20:29, 25 September 2006 (UTC)- Forget that: the article uses the past tense. --Mais oui! 20:30, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've no idea. Feel free to remove it if you can't find any further info I was quoting from that source when I wrote it but thanks for pointing out the inaccuracy. Guess I'll have to be more careful what I use as sources in future. YDAM TALK 21:45, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- There's a source here from the NPSA [3]- guess it must be of those inaccuracies that just get copied ad verbatim, I'll keep looking and see if there's anything to it YDAM TALK 21:58, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
I think I might have something. I believe it's related to Academy of Medical Royal Colleges here [4]. The royal college of physicions refer to a Scottish Academy of Medical Royal Colleges here [5]. It would appear to be referring to these organisations although I'm not sure what the relationship is between the two, whether there distinct organisations or whether one it part of the other YDAM TALK 22:16, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Excellent! If we can link Patel with these orgs then we can re-add it. --Mais oui! 22:21, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- is the original source here [6] and this one [7] from the NSPA enough YDAM TALK 22:30, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Problem with text
[edit]The text 'graduating in 1964. He then proceeded to work for more than thirty years at Dundee's Ninewells Hospital, becoming a consultant obstetrician in 1974' is a bit confusing. Ninewells did not open until 1974, so he cannot have worked there between 1964 and 1974 which I think this implies. I suspect he was at one of the other Dundee hospitals until 1974, but a reference would be needed to show this. Dunarc (talk) 18:58, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
