Though the relationship between Herst and Davies received more than passing notice in the 20s,Los Angeles Times 1928, Patricia Van Cleve Lake has herself received more than trivial mention in reliable sources for decades as she was actively involved in society, radio theater and film.News sources 1930-39, News sources 1940-1949, Google Books. Her death simply brought more coverage. Los Angeles Times 10/31/93, San Jose Mercury News 10/16/93. Lake's definitely not a one-trick pony. She has multiple claims toward notability. On a treasure hunt and feeling my Google-foo, I struck gold. When Penny Singleton left the radio show Blondie in the mid-1940s, Patricia Van Cleve Lake gave voice to the character of Blondie Bumstead for the remaining 5 years the show was broadcast, opposite her real-life husband Arthur Lake who voiced Dagwood Bumstead.[1][2].
